Q: Are you funded by the Singapore Government?
A: No, we have no connection with the Singapore or any other government. We are a non-profit, non-Government organization and we depend on public donations and membership dues for your subsistence.
Q: Where are you located?
A: The Singapore Heritage Society is a Society registered under the Societies Act and is domiciled in Singapore.
Q: Do you charge for your content?
A:

We do not intend to charge for the use of our content as far as possible. However, there is some material which will only be visible to members and not ordinary users. It is our hope that users of this site join the Society as a member by contributing three articles a year. If this is too difficult, we accept membership fees of S$60.00 per year. For membership details, click here.

Q: How frequently do you refresh your content?
A:

Because this is a history website, most of what you'll see on PESH is ‘evergreen’ content. They do not go out of date even if new information may be added from time to time and different interpretations may emerge from the materials extant. The contents of PESH are updated whenever new entries are submitted, verified and approved.

Q: How do I know your content is accurate?
A:

This is a moderated site. We endeavour to publish accurate and reliable information. All submissions are sent to our in-house team of experts for verification and approval before being added to the site. However, as with any other publication, you should approach whatever you read on PESH with some skepticism and understanding that humans sometimes err even if they do not intend to do so. Any errors on the site are NOT intentional, but inadvertent and if you find an error, please email us and let us know.

Q: Who writes your material?
A:

We have lots of contributors from all over the world. Many of them are experts in their fields or have spent a lot of time studying their subject. Everyone is welcome to contribute to PESH.

Q: Can I be a contributor to your publication?
A:

We have contributors from all over the world who have written articles, provided photographs and illustrations to PESH. If you would like to contribute, please query us at shs.secretary@gmail.com

Q: Can I use the images or text from the site?
A:

No, not without permission. Before using anything on the PESH site for anything other than personal use, email us with specific details of the intended use, and we'll get back to you, quickly with an answer.

Q: What is the proper way to attribute PESH in a bibliography?
A:

Cite the Name of the Author, ‘Title of the Article,’ URL, date of publication (if given; if not, use copyright date on bottom of page).

If you cannot find the answer to any of your queries, please send you questions to us at: shs.secretary@gmail.com and we will do our best to answer it.
