UPDATED (12 Sept 2012): Information on Silent Auction Items, Raffle Draw and Shuttle Services to Hotel Re!

The Singapore Heritage Society celebrates its Silver Jubilee Anniversary in 2012! To commemorate twenty-five years of heritage research, education and advocacy, the Society is hosting a dinner at Hotel Re! on 15 September 2012. (SOLD OUT!)

The evening’s programme includes:

  • A ceremony honouring the extraordinary contributions of Dr Kwok Kian-Woon and Dr Kevin YL Tan to the Singapore Heritage Society.
  • The premiere of the Singapore Heritage Society video, which showcases all four Presidents and the Society’s involvement in various heritage issues of Singapore for the past 25 years.
  • A table quiz on Singapore’s history and heritage, with attractive prizes up for grabs!
  • A silent auction of rare collectibles and invaluable antiques!
  • A raffle draw for fabulous prizes! Buy a ticket for a chance to win a TANGS Gift Card worth $500 or a pair of restaurant vouchers worth $100!

THE VENUE

The Singapore Heritage Society will be hosting the dinner at Hotel Re!, a modern retro themed boutique hotel.

Hotel Re!’s structure was formerly a primary school building. The school started out as Cross Street School in 1883 and renamed as Pearl’s Hill School in 1914. The school settled in the 12-storey building along Chin Swee Road in 1971. It became known as the tallest school in Singapore and was declared opened on 2nd June 1972. The school ceased operations at the site in 2001.

DIRECTIONS TO HOTEL RE!

Getting there (by Bus):

Buses at Chin Swee Road: 174, 174E

Buses at Outram Park MRT: 33, 63, 75, 174, 851, 970, 174E

Getting there (by Shuttle Bus):

We have confirmed two shuttle services to Hotel Re! from Outram MRT station at the following designated times: 6.10 pm and 6.30 pm.

Getting there (walking from Outram MRT station):

  • At Outram MRT station, take the exit near Ananas Cafe
  • Walk past Ananas Cafe, keeping right towards the field
  • Look out for Hotel Re! directional sign and walk along the road towards the left bend
  • Continue along the road until you see the second Hotel Re! sign
  • Turn right and walk up a short staircase to arrive at Hotel Re!’s main building
  • The function room where the dinner is hosted is past the main building and down the slope

Getting there (by Car):

Hotel Re! is located on the side of Chin Swee Road that is heading towards Outram Road.

Option (1) Enter Chin Swee Road from Havelock Road or Clemenceau Avenue.

Option (2) (if coming from AYE, Outram Road) Enter Chin Swee Road (heading towards Havelock Road). Drive past York Hill and Jalan Kukoh, keep right and make a u-turn.
